Medical Emergency: Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS)

Metabolic complications caused by rapid cell death.

  • P – HyperPhosphatemia (increased): Causing calcium precipitation
  • U – HyperUricemia (increased): Causing renal failure/crystals
  • C – HypoCalcemia (decreased): Causing seizures, tetany
  • K – HyperKalemia (increased): Causing arrhythmias
