Concordancia / Adjective Agreement

Adjectives must agree with the noun they describe in both gender and number

Special Rule: Bueno & Malo Before a masculine singular noun, "bueno" shortens to buen and "malo" to mal. un buen médico (a good doctor) · un mal día (a bad day). After the noun they stay full: un médico bueno · un día malo.

Historical Context Arabic was spoken in the Iberian Peninsula for over 700 years (711–1492 CE). The Arabic definite article al- fused into Spanish, giving us so many words starting with al-: alcohol, algodón, almohada, almanaque… When you say ¡Ojalá! you are literally saying inshallah.
