02 · Reflexive grammar

Pronoun + conjugated verb

me · te · se · nos · se

Remove -se, conjugate the verb for the subject, and put the matching pronoun before it.

Placement

Before a conjugated verb:

Me ducho por la mañana.

Before the conjugated verb or attached to an infinitive:

Me voy a duchar.
Voy a ducharme.

Both mean “I am going to shower.” Do not place the pronoun between a and the infinitive.

Normalmente me acuesto a las once.
I normally go to bed at eleven.

Use a la una for one o’clock; use a las for other hours.
